After giving herself a multi-million dollar loan in her successful 2000 Senate campaign, Maria Cantwell hypocritically voted for the 2002 Campaign Finance Reform Act which restricted such loans for future campaign challengers.

Maria CantVoteWell on the Sales Tax Exemption
Cantwell voted against cloture on H.R. 5970, which would have extended the sales tax exemption on federal tax returns for Washington State residents, thus blocking its passage.
